Inspiring the Boys & Girls Clubs with Nanotech at the Teen Summit
It’s always great to inspire the kids of the Boys & Girls Clubs. This time, we had an exhibition table at their Teen Summit that was held at UCLA. We asked Kaiden, one of our high school volunteer students to help. He is only 14 years old and can already explain nanotechnology to his peers (and even older junior and senior students). His two brothers also came to support him at the table; we are thrilled to get his whole family excited about nanotechnology and STEM education.
Kids from Boys & Girls Clubs from all over LA came to our table to learn about nanotechnology applications; we were exhibiting nano-coated surfaces. Having Kaiden explain the concepts really excited the other kids. They were able to see how studying STEM could be a reality for them – and SOON – since Kaiden and his brothers were similar in age to most of our visitors.
Thank you Time Warner Cable for supporting our effort to spread the word about nanotechnology among teens and make it possible for us to attend this great event. Without the support of companies like Time Warner Cable, we would not be able to reach as many kids as we are this year! We are happy to be a part of your mission to “Connect a Million Minds.”
