The Nanotech Curriculum Teachers Want: Omni Nano Delivers
You probably already know that Omni Nano’s nanotechnology curriculum is truly unique in that it is specifically tailored to students at the high school level. But did you know that it’s also highly in-demand by teachers across the country and around the world?
Take this Upstate New York science teacher, who was thrilled to find out about our curriculum and become an Omni Nano collaborative partner:
I was asked to develop a nanotechnology curriculum for an online course. It is an overwhelming task to have to navigate through various sites that only offer bits and pieces of information that can be used for curriculum development in Nanotechnology, most of which is not at a high school level. It is either for elementary or advanced college levels. A colleague sent me the link to Omni Nano and the curriculum is exactly what I was looking for. It is tailored to high school students with engaging presentations and videos. It is aligned to the Next Generation Science Standards and provides the structure, resources as well as materials for a teacher to run the class with ease. I am now very excited to have a pilot program in the Spring of 2016 as well as extend it to 22 school districts in Western New York beginning in the Fall of 2016.
We are currently alpha-testing our curriculum with a group of motivated volunteers – and we are happy to announce that we’ll commence beta-testing during the Spring 2016 semester. By partnering with a number of forward-thinking high schools and universities, including the Cattaraugus-Allegany Career and Technical Education Center where she teaches, the first edition of our materials are projected to be available for wide-scale access for the 2016-17 school year.
