Omni Nano Receives Grant from Northrop Grumman
Global security leader Northrop Grumman makes it its mission to be at the forefront of technology and innovation, relying on a highly skilled employee base of STEM experts to do so. They understand that a critical step in building a diverse employee pipeline is making science and math fascinating and applicable for K-12 students — so the statistics regarding the dwindling number of students who are interested in science are understandably concerning to the multinational enterprise.
“This growing shortage of science-based talent in our workplaces and universities also represents a serious potential problem for our nation. Science-based expertise is the heart of our high-technology culture, society, and economy. If we are not able to draw on a substantial and growing infusion of that expertise, America will not be able to sustain its leadership position in an increasingly competitive world.”
Northrop Grumman recognizes that supporting STEM initiatives is critical not only for their business but for U.S. competitiveness as a whole. To that end, they are helping to address these challenges by focusing their resources on STEM education.
We’re delighted to announce that Omni Nano has been selected to receive a grant from Northrop Grumman, making them our third official corporate sponsor. With their support, we will be able to host an additional 8 workshops this year with compelling guest speakers from the company. Question-and-answer sessions with STEM professionals allow our students to learn about what steps they can take to pursue similar careers and to understand what real scientists actually do on a daily basis – and it’s always a student favorite.
We are so honored to have the support of one of the top manufacturing companies in our community. Thank you!
