Culver City High: “I’m all about helping the world.”
We presented three of our nanotechnology workshops to the AP Chemistry students at Culver City High School in Culver City, CA. A total of about 70 students and visitors attended.
Some of students’ comments include:
“Nanotechnology sounds amazing, I’ll definitely add it to the list of fields I’d consider pursuing.”
“I’m all about helping the world and if nanotechnology can let me do that, then I’m ready.”
“I did want to be involved in the medical field as a doctor before the workshop but now, I am more interested in the engineering side and what I can invent to help the medical procedures easier and effective. I will look farther into this field and would want to learn material science in college.”
“I personally am interested in medicine, particularly oncology and genetics, so the section on the nanotechnology that could isolate the cancerous cell, send a signal to the doctor, and destroy only the cancerous cell was right up my alley.”
Workshops sponsored by Freeport-McMoRan Oil & Gas.
