San Pedro High School Discovers Nanotechnology

Omni Nano presented its Discover Nanotechnology Workshops to 140 students at San Pedro High School in San Pedro, CA.

Omni Nano hosted a special series of four workshops for 140 students today at San Pedro High School. What made these workshops so special? The hosting teacher, Mrs. Gina Napolitano, and one of her students, Kaiden, are on the Omni Nano team! (Gina was our former Operations Manager and Kaiden is a long-time volunteer.) We had a great time inspiring these students and can’t wait to inspire more.

These workshops were made possible by the generous support of Northrop Grumman. Thank you!

Selected student comments:

  • Dr. Curelli was a fantastic speaker who was really engaging with the students. Overall, this was a really informative workshop. I recently applied to a college with a focus in nanotechnology, so it’s nice to have a little head start on the subject. I also liked how he had examples of the super hydrophobic surface for the students to see and play with.
  • I’m certain that all of us in Mrs. Napolitano’s classroom deeply appreciated the visit and the presentation alike. Thank you very much!
  • Nanotechnology is a very interesting thing, and I might pursue learning about it. Loved everything – awesome work.
